About this directory

Golf Courses Finder is a reference directory of golf courses in the United States: 14,197 courses in 8,012 cities across 50 states and the District of Columbia. It is meant to be read like a field guide: names, places and numbers, set out plainly.

What each page contains

Every course page lists the street address, phone number and website when known, the number of holes, par, total yardage, whether a driving range is on site, and play access (public, private, or semi-private) when a source states it. State and city pages count and rank the courses they contain.

How the comparisons work

Sentences on each page are generated from those fields and nothing else. A course's yardage is ranked against other courses in the same state with the same number of holes. Nearby courses and cities are measured in straight-line miles between listed coordinates, which is not driving distance. When a figure is missing, the page shows a dash and makes no claim about it.

Corrections

Courses change hands, close and re-measure. If something is wrong or missing, write to hello@golfcoursesfinder.com, or use the correction link on any course page.

Our other site

Golf Courses Finder is made by the same people as Golf Shot Coach, a free iPhone app with plain-English coaching for the lie your ball is sitting on: pick where it sits, get four clear cues, and play the shot.
